LOUIS VUITTON PRE-FALL 2009 CoLLECTONS

Louis Vuitton has just released the photos of their 2009 Pre-Fall collection that was inspired by a book about wartime fashions. WWD reports that Marc Jacobs kept a retro mood for the collection and played with a muted palette with shots of orange and fuchsia, skirts paired with blouises and cardigans, platforms and socks, and a little black crepe dress with sculpted radzimir sleeves and lace panels. Costume jewelry also underscores the Forties feel, with a lily-of-the-valley brooch and a wooden chain necklace.

And here's what Laird Borrelli-Persson from Style.com has to say. "Worlds (and decades) divide the blooming neon exuberance of Louis Vuitton's Stephen Sprouse tribute collection and the house's soberly chic pre-fall lineup, which, said women's studio director Peter Copping, was inspired by a book on Paris during World War II. Pretty print day dresses and bustier-topped party looks were shown on models who wore their hair in Veronica Lake waves, accessorized with brooches made of wood, papier-mâché, and pearls, and sported beaded socks that alluded to 1940's hosiery shortages. A sporty drawstring-waist topper and a sexy pair of skinny jersey ski pants added a modern element to the retro mood."

P/S : Does these pictures make u jump?? I guessed NO. It doesn't have the "umph" feeling when I look at them.. and when I look at them, I'm not sold into it. I mean, I don't know where to focus my attention.. is it to Madonna, to Madonna's yoga poses, to Madonna's open legs, or to the bags?

DUN think that this is budgeted ad campaign from Louis Vuitton either. But with Madonna as the model, it just won't work for me.. :lol:

Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2009-10 Menswear show featured bags that were new, as well as classic designs reincarnated into masculine creations Iconic bags such as the Steamer, Sac Plat and the Speedy were crafted from the classic Monogram Canvas with black leather trim, black embossed leather, and quilted Monogram similar to that of a soccer ball. A bag in Damier Graphite canvas also made an appearance, along with other shimmery monogrammed satin totes, Tadao-like canvas bags, and Monogram trunks carried in trolleys. Louis Vuitton Men's Fall/Winter 2009-10 Show: Full Collection

Here's the review via WWD: Brands are playing to their strengths and this was writ large at Louis Vuitton, where Marc Jacobs and Paul Helbers, men’s wear studio director, put accessories and luxury travel front and center.

Describing this quiet collection as “the traveling wardrobe of an African King, adapting his taste for a trip to Paris,” Helbers opted for tailoring which was more French than African. Military jackets in antelope leather or alligator were faintly reminiscent of the tribal theme that pulsed through Vuitton’s latest women’s show. “(It’s) much more subtle and I think that’s good in men’s so you don’t have costume party going on,” Jacobs said.

Faint prints of flora and fauna crept on to formal satin jackets, which were paired with a generous trouser shape, pleated in the front for a draped effect. A slate blue cashmere coat was elegantly belted at the waist while a double-breasted velvet jacket was worn with vivid red sneakers designed by Kanye West. Hoodies, scarves and knit hats added a sporty edge to many looks.

But no European safari is complete without luggage and the Vuitton man won’t be traveling lightly. Bag after bag of every description appeared, from a Keepall built like a soccer ball – a wink to African’s passion for the sport – to a monogrammed trunk that had to be wheeled down the runway.

YUP.. not much difference. But the DENIM pleaty mmg more 'chic lookin' I just can't get enough LVOE - ing it. Hahahaa.. but didn't got the chance to buy this gorgeous bag. Me pun kira customer sisAish yg ketinggalan keretapi. If u see her 'fotopages' account, lagi meleleh air liur. Banyak yg da 'melepas'!!

The Monogram Denim line is a collection of bags made from carefully selected very high quality cottons making the items both supple and stong. The "used" effect of the Monogram Denim canvas is achieved by bleaching and stonewashing it, giving it a distinctive and "vintage" look.

The Monogram Denim is considered to be a genuine pair of stonewashed jeans. Because of this, there are some small differences in color on the same canvas or from one product to another. The "used" effect given intentionally by the stonewash will become more visible with time. Also, the softness of the canvas which is enhanced by the stonewash, may create some slight variations in the position of the Monogram pattern. All these specifications are normal and inherit to the Denim and to the stonewash process.

Here are the recommended care instructions so that you can enjoy your denim bag or accessory for many years.

Tip #1:
Like your normal pair of jeans, the Denim is highly vulnerable to abrasion and scratches so it is recommended to keep your bag away from abrasive surfaces.

Tip #2:
Protect your bag from humidity and avoid direct and/or prolonged exposure to sunlight or to any direct heat source as the color of the canvas might fade.

Tip #3:
When not in use, store your bag in the felt pouch/dust bag provided with your purchase to protect it from dust, insects and other nasty and harmful elements.
